Pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding are often the main symptoms of gynecological cancer, but they are not the only signs. If they can be detected early, some gynecological cancers can be cured. Here are 10 symptoms of cervical cancer and other gynecological cancers. Doctors hope that if women experience these symptoms, they will seek medical help as soon as possible, especially those who have entered menopause. 1. Leg swelling Does one leg look or feel more swollen for no apparent reason? This could be a sign of cervical cancer. However, leg swelling does not necessarily signal cancer unless it is accompanied by pain, discharge, or other symptoms of cervical cancer. 2. Abnormal vaginal bleeding More than 90% of women diagnosed with endometrial cancer experience irregular vaginal bleeding. Any bleeding in menopausal women should be evaluated. Women who are not menopausal should see a gynecologist if they have bleeding between periods, heavy bleeding, or bleeding during sexual intercourse. 3. Unexplained weight loss Women who suddenly lose more than ten pounds without changing their diet or exercise habits should take it seriously. 4. Color of vaginal discharge Bloody, dark, or foul-smelling discharge usually signals an infection. But it can sometimes signal cervical or endometrial cancer. 5. Constant need to go to the toilet or persistent bladder pressure This could be a sign of cancer, especially if it's accompanied by symptoms like abdominal pain and bloating. 6. Loss of appetite or constant feeling of fullness These appetite changes may be symptoms of ovarian cancer. 7. Pelvic or abdominal pain Persistent abdominal pain or discomfort, including belching, indigestion, pressure, swelling, and cramping, can indicate ovarian cancer. Persistent pelvic pain or pressure can be a sign of certain diseases, such as endometrial cancer. 8. Abdominal distension Women often feel bloated after overeating, especially during their menstrual cycle. If the bloating lasts for more than 2 weeks, it may be a sign of ovarian cancer. Having one or more of these symptoms does not necessarily mean you have cancer, but if they persist for 2 weeks or longer, see your doctor for a thorough checkup. |
