Do you know whether uterine cancer is contagious? The harm of infectious diseases is immeasurable. In addition to endangering the health of the patient itself, it also threatens the health of people around him. Uterine cancer is a common gynecological tumor. Many people are particularly worried that the disease will be contagious. So, is uterine cancer contagious? Let's find out together. Uterine cancer actually refers to endometrial cancer, which occurs in the inner layer of the uterus. It is a common cancer in the female reproductive system and ranks fourth among the most common cancers in women. It is more common in women aged 50 to 60, often after menopause. However, the disease is not contagious, so patients do not need to worry too much. Gynecological examinations for early endometrial cancer may show no abnormal findings. In the late stage, the uterus may be significantly enlarged, and there may be obvious tenderness when combined with pyometra. Occasionally, cancerous tissue may prolapse from the cervical canal, which is easy to bleed when touched. When the cancer infiltrates the surrounding tissues, the uterus may be fixed or irregular nodules may be touched next to the uterus. If the cancer involves the cervix, it may cause pyometra, lower abdominal distension and cramp-like pain. In the late stage, infiltration of surrounding tissues or compression of nerves may cause pain in the lower abdomen and lumbar spinal cord. In the late stage, corresponding symptoms such as anemia, weight loss and cachexia may occur. The main treatments for uterine cancer are surgery, radiotherapy, and drugs (chemotherapy and hormones). The appropriate treatment plan should be selected and formulated based on the patient's general condition, the extent of cancer involvement, and histological type. In the early stage, surgery is the main treatment, and adjuvant therapy is selected according to the results of surgical-pathological staging and the presence of high-risk factors for recurrence; in the late stage, a combination of surgery, radiation, and drugs is used. Chemotherapy is one of the comprehensive treatment measures for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. It can also be used to treat patients with high-risk factors for recurrence after surgery in order to reduce distant metastasis outside the pelvis. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include cisplatin, doxorubicin, paclitaxel, cyclophosphamide, fluorouracil, mitomycin, etoposide, etc. It can be used alone or in combination, and can also be used in combination with progesterone. For diseases like uterine cancer, prevention is more important than treatment. We should popularize cancer prevention knowledge, have regular physical examinations, pay attention to the diagnosis and treatment of vaginal bleeding in postmenopausal women and menstrual disorders in perimenopausal women, correctly understand the indications and methods of estrogen use, and closely follow up or monitor people with high-risk factors. |
