What are the correct diagnostic methods for tongue cancer

What are the correct diagnostic methods for tongue cancer? Although tongue cancer is not a common disease in life, the symptoms of tongue cancer are relatively obvious and will cause a lot of discomfort to patients in the early stages of the disease. Therefore, it is not difficult to detect and diagnose tongue cancer in time. So what are the correct diagnostic methods for tongue cancer?

Clinical Diagnosis of Tongue Cancer

Palpation is more important than inspection for the diagnosis of tongue cancer. A biopsy should be performed to confirm the diagnosis. According to data from my country, the 3- to 5-year survival rate of surgically based treatment is generally above 60%; in T1 cases, it can reach above 90%.

1. Imaging examination: X-ray, tomography and CT are of diagnostic value in determining the invasion range of tongue cancer.

2. Pathological cytology examination: Exfoliative cytology examination confirms that it is cancer cell, which is helpful for the diagnosis of this disease. More than 95% of tongue cancers are squamous cell carcinomas, while adenocarcinomas from salivary glands are rare; and the proportion of adenocarcinomas in tongue root cancer can be as high as more than 30%. If the submandibular and cervical lymph nodes are swollen, a biopsy can be performed to confirm whether there is metastasis.

Key points for diagnosis of tongue cancer

1. Clearly define the evidence of pathological cytology diagnosis.

2. There are nodules on the tongue that gradually become lumps, followed by ulcers. The lesions gradually extend to the deep and surrounding tissues, often accompanied by clinical symptoms such as infection, difficulty eating and swallowing, and enlarged submandibular lymph nodes.

Those who meet the above (1) can be diagnosed with the disease, and those who meet (2) can be diagnosed with the disease in a tentative manner.

During the treatment, the patient can also sit for a while after meals or take a slow walk every day to increase the patient's appetite, thereby increasing the patient's body resistance. To improve the long-term efficacy of tongue cancer, early detection, early diagnosis, early treatment, and regular follow-up are necessary. If surgery is possible, it is better to have surgery as soon as possible. The treatment effect of auxiliary Chinese medicine is better, which can improve the success rate of surgery, control the development of the disease, eliminate residual cancer cells after surgery, improve people's immunity, appetite, sleep, and quality of life.
