What are the common causes of glioma

Glioma is a common brain tumor, and its incidence and mortality rates are increasing year by year. It has become an important "killer" that endangers human health in modern times. So what causes glioma? Let me explain the common causes of glioma.

1. Origin of tumor: There is a theory that the cause of tumor is the embryonic remnant of primitive cells that grows into a tumor. These remnant cells can cause chronic proliferation due to inflammatory stimulation and form a tumor. Multiple gliomas, or gliomatosis, may have more than one tumor center.

2. Genetic factors: There are different reports on the familial incidence of glioma. In the past 20 years, the chromosomes of glioma have been studied and it has been found that most of them have abnormalities in the C group chromosomes, but the causal relationship with glioma is still unclear.

3. Polluted air: It has been confirmed that not only do workers who work in an air-polluted environment for a long time have a significantly increased risk of developing brain tumors, but their children also have a higher tumor incidence rate than other children.

4. Bad living habits: such as being partial to certain types of food, drinking, smoking, etc. Although there is not enough evidence to prove that these factors are related to the occurrence of glioma, they have been confirmed to be related to the occurrence of gastrointestinal tumors and lung tumors.

5. Biochemical environment: The levels of pigment oxidase, phosphokinase and ATP in glioma cells are lower than those in normal cells, but β-glucuronidase is higher than that in normal brain tissue (except ependymoma). LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) is different from that in normal brain tissue due to the high metabolism of tumor tissue.

6. Ionizing radiation: Long-term exposure to a radiation environment, such as X-rays, gamma rays, nuclear radiation, etc., will increase the chance of developing brain glioma.

7. Nitroso compounds: With the development of modern industrialization, this type of compound has become widely present in the environment we live in, especially produced in the process of food processing.

8. Infection: Some animal experiments have confirmed that certain viral infections can induce brain tumors, especially viral infections during pregnancy, which pose a greater threat to the future of the fetus.
