What is the etiology analysis of glioma

There are various diseases in life, and no one is absolutely healthy. When unexplained vomiting occurs, you must seek medical attention in time to find out the cause. It is accompanied by blurred vision, followed by symptoms of epilepsy, and abnormal growth of brain tissue, which leads to a disease called glioma. Glioma is a tumor that occurs in the neuroectoderm. Let us now learn about the cause analysis of glioma.

From an epidemiological perspective: glioma is the most common type of intracranial tumor. Among gliomas, astrocytoma is the most common, followed by glioblastoma multiforme, and ependymoma is the third. Gender is more common in males, especially in glioblastoma multiforme and medulloblastoma, males are significantly more than females.

Most cases occur between 20 and 50 years old, with a peak at 30 to 40 years old. Children around 10 years old also have another small peak. Each type of glioma has its own age of occurrence. For example, astrocytoma is more common in middle-aged people, glioblastoma multiforme is more common in middle-aged people, ependymoma is more common in children and young people, and medulloblastoma mostly occurs in children.

The common sites of different types of gliomas are also different. For example, astrocytomas mostly occur in the cerebral hemispheres of adults, while in children they mostly occur in the cerebellum; glioblastoma multiforme almost always occurs in the cerebral hemispheres; ependymomas are more common in the fourth ventricle; the vast majority of oligodendrogliomas occur in the cerebral hemispheres, and medulloblastomas almost always occur in the cerebellar vermis.

Oligodendroglioma and anaplastic oligodendroglioma: Brain tumors mostly grow in the white matter, are soft, and have a wide infiltration range. They can break into the ventricles and the surface of the cortex. Some tumors may undergo cystic changes. Some tumors produce myxoid changes. They aggregate into a jelly-like substance with a round nucleus. Malignant oligodendrogliomas are more round in shape. There is more cytoplasm, and some tumor cells can be seen spreading with the cerebrospinal fluid. Clinically, most oligodendrogliomas grow slowly and have a long course of disease. The average time from symptoms to medical treatment is 2-3 years. Epilepsy is the first symptom of the disease. Extensive tumor infiltration can be seen. Abnormal emotions and dementia symptoms are seen. Increased intracranial pressure appears later. Tumors invade the motor and sensory areas, and hemiplegia, hemisensory disorders, and motor sensory aphasia occur accordingly.
