What are the dangers of thyroid cancer

What are the dangers of thyroid cancer? The thyroid gland belongs to our body's endocrine system. It is located in our neck. Its main function is to control and regulate our endocrine system and keep the body in a balanced state. However, thyroid cancer will break this balance and naturally cause many dangers. So, what are the dangers of the thyroid gland?

Thyroid disease is the second most common disease of the endocrine system. People may suffer from this disease at all stages of their lives. Experts say that many citizens have been found to have thyroid cancer during health checkups, but many people think that this disease is just a common minor problem like myopia and rhinitis. In fact, a small number of thyroid cancers are likely to deteriorate into thyroid cancer, so we must not ignore the harm caused by thyroid cancer.

The clinical manifestation of thyroid cancer is an enlarged thyroid gland. When patients touch the front area of the neck with their hands, they can feel some round or oval protrusions of varying sizes and slightly hard texture. This is thyroid cancer. According to surveys, the prevalence of thyroid cancer in my country is 19%. If the diameter of thyroid cancer exceeds 1cm, 5% to 15% of them may worsen, that is, thyroid cancer. Especially in children, 50% of thyroid cancer is malignant.

Therefore, when thyroid cancer is discovered, it must be taken seriously and evaluated by a specialist. If the nodule is less than 2 cm, surgery can be postponed and regular check-ups are required. However, surgery must be performed if the following conditions occur: B-ultrasound examination shows that the nodule is larger than 2 cm; although the nodule is small, it compresses the trachea, nerves, etc.; there is a goiter behind the sternum; there is secondary hyperthyroidism; there is a suspicion of malignant transformation, and surgery must be considered.

Except for anaplastic thyroid cancer, which mostly occurs in the elderly and has a poor treatment effect, 95% of thyroid cancers are differentiated thyroid cancers with lower malignancy. If treated in a standardized way, the life expectancy of many patients is no different from that of normal people, and their quality of life will not be affected. Therefore, once thyroid cancer is discovered, it must be taken seriously and not be treated perfunctorily.
