Measures to prevent recurrence of cholangiocarcinoma after surgery

Cancer has taken the lives of countless people and is a disease that everyone fears. Patients often suffer from postoperative chemotherapy. Biliary duct cancer is also a type of cancer that is extremely difficult to cure and prone to recurrence. So what are the measures to prevent the recurrence of bile duct cancer after surgery?

Is it true that bile duct cancer will not recur after recovery? Is this really the case? Clinical cure of bile duct cancer means no recurrence five years after surgery. In fact, two years after surgery is the peak period of recurrence. Once five years have passed, the chance of recurrence is relatively small. However, a relatively small chance of recurrence does not mean that there will be no recurrence. The risk still exists, so patients should not take it lightly and eat and drink too much, have irregular work and rest, etc. At the same time, postoperative consolidation treatment is also necessary.

In order to prevent recurrence, patients with bile duct cancer should eat a light and nutritious diet. Eat more vegetables, fruits, milk, soft-shelled turtles and other nourishing foods rich in amino acids, vitamins, proteins and easy to digest. Eat less greasy and heavy food; eat less dog meat, mutton and other warm tonic foods; eat less seafood without shells, bamboo shoots, taro and other foods that are easy to cause allergies; eat less drinks and snacks containing chemicals, preservatives and additives. Avoid irritants such as too sour, too spicy, too salty, tobacco and alcohol.

At the same time, patients should also adjust their own state, get rid of negative emotions such as pessimism, despair, and depression, live and treat with a calm, happy, and positive attitude, fight the cancer with the belief that they will win, not be impatient for success, and be prepared for a protracted battle and long-term treatment until the cancer is completely defeated.
