Will osteosarcoma heal on its own?

In today's society, osteosarcoma is a disease with a very high incidence rate. It is very harmful to the healthy growth of adolescents. However, due to the lack of knowledge about osteosarcoma, many adolescents think that they can just endure the pain and the osteosarcoma will get better on its own when they first feel pain. Is it really as adolescents think? Will osteosarcoma get better on its own? If it can't get better on its own, what should we do? Let us learn about it together.

First of all, I want to tell my patients that osteosarcoma will not get better on its own. Osteosarcoma is a serious malignant tumor that threatens the patient's life and health. It is not only highly malignant, but also progresses rapidly. Without regular treatment, the disease will not get better on its own. The tumor will metastasize within six months to a year, which will not only increase the difficulty of treatment, but also seriously affect the patient's cure rate, and even quickly lead to the patient's death. At present, with the continuous advancement of medical technology, many tumor diseases can be cured through reasonable treatment. In fact, reasonable treatment methods are the key to whether osteosarcoma can be cured.

At present, the treatment of osteosarcoma adopts a standardized comprehensive treatment model, which greatly improves the treatment effect and the survival rate of patients. Before the 1970s, the treatment of osteosarcoma was mainly based on simple surgery, and patients could only undergo amputation or joint separation, with a 5-year survival rate of less than 25%; now surgery plus radiotherapy and chemotherapy before and after surgery are used, and the 5-year survival rate of patients can reach more than 50%. With the rapid development of modern Chinese medicine treatment technology, some patients can achieve a 5-year survival rate of up to 80% under the combined treatment of Chinese and Western medicine. Therefore, osteosarcoma patients must adopt standardized comprehensive treatment in a timely manner after the diagnosis of the disease to achieve better treatment effects.

Whether osteosarcoma can be cured depends on early detection and early treatment. As long as it can be detected in the early stage and a professional cancer hospital is selected for regular comprehensive treatment, osteosarcoma can be completely controlled or even cured. Of course, the early treatment of osteosarcoma is the most effective, so we recommend that teenagers detect osteosarcoma early, including regular physical examinations. If the patient discovers that the disease has developed to the middle and late stages, the patient's chance of recovery is relatively low, but at this time, the patient needs to receive active treatment to maximize the patient's life, improve the patient's quality of life, and even achieve the goal of recovery or long-term survival with the tumor.
