Does ovarian tumor surgery affect pregnancy?

The ovaries are the place where eggs develop, mature and are discharged. If ovarian cysts occur, the ovaries are damaged, which impairs the development, maturation and discharge of eggs, leading to infertility. Therefore, pregnancy will definitely be affected to a certain extent. Therefore, it is recommended that women with ovarian tumors must wait until they are cured before getting pregnant.

Whether you can get pregnant after suffering from ovarian tumor depends on its nature and size. If it is benign and the tumor is only a small one, you can get pregnant first. However, if the ovarian tumor is larger than 5 centimeters, and the tumor is still there after 2 or 3 reexaminations and has a tendency to grow, you must have surgery first and wait for half a year before getting pregnant.

Because during pregnancy, the tumor may twist, rupture and other dangerous situations may occur, which may easily cause miscarriage, premature birth, etc. If the ovarian tumor is malignant, no matter how big or small, it is not advisable to get pregnant, but it needs to be treated as soon as possible to prevent the condition from further deteriorating.

Generally, if the ovarian tumor is larger than 5 cm, and after two or three reexaminations, the tumor is present and has a tendency to grow, and especially if the tumor is cystic or solid, or some tumor markers indicate abnormalities, it is recommended that such tumors should be operated on before pregnancy.

There are many surgical methods for treating ovarian tumors, and the hospital's laparoscopic technology is the preferred treatment method. Laparoscopic surgery is performed in a closed abdominal cavity, with the doctor looking directly at the monitoring screen. The difference between laparoscopic surgery and traditional surgery is that the abdominal cavity is not cut open, and the organs are not exposed to the air; with the help of the camera system, the surgical field of view is more fully exposed than traditional surgery; places outside the surgical site will not be disturbed by unnecessary operations; incision, ligation, and hemostasis are mainly completed by electrocoagulation surgery and ultrasonic scalpels; the pelvic and abdominal environments are less disturbed, etc.
