Can I still get pregnant if I have an ovarian tumor?

During an ultrasound examination in the early stages of pregnancy, small cysts on the ovaries can be found using sophisticated instruments. Since these have existed before pregnancy, most people do not care as long as they do not cause functional impairment and are asymptomatic.

Ovarian tumors are not a physiological phenomenon and are divided into two types: benign tumors and malignant tumors. In terms of physiological phenomena, with pregnancy, the diameter of the ovarian corpus luteum will become about 3 to 5 cm (ultrasound examination shows that the ovarian wall is actually a thin liquid). There is no need to worry about this, as it is a physiological cyst.

Benign tumors with a diameter of less than 5 to 6 cm usually do not have any symptoms. Many women often become pregnant without knowing it, and there is almost no adverse effect on the entire pregnancy process. Only occasionally some younger pregnant women may feel a little abdominal pain. However, benign tumors such as dermoid cysts (tumors formed from the endoderm, mesodermal and ectoderm tissues during the embryonic period) should also be aware of the possibility of rapid growth during pregnancy.

Malignant tumors not only make it impossible to get pregnant, but can also be life-threatening, so they should be treated early. Although they have no obvious symptoms like benign tumors, they can still be detected early through ultrasound examinations and blood tests.
