Nursing after radiotherapy and chemotherapy for endometrial cancer

Nursing after radiotherapy and chemotherapy for endometrial cancer

With the increase of work and life pressure, many female friends do not pay attention to their physical health, which leads to the occurrence of gynecological diseases, especially endometrial cancer, which is a type of cancer and is difficult to cure. It must be taken seriously. In severe cases, it can cause patients to lose their precious lives. Of course, while cooperating with treatment, good care is also very important.

How should patients with endometrial cancer be cared for after surgery? Experts explain as follows:

1. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva

The female reproductive organs are connected inside and outside, and some pathogenic microorganisms can easily invade the fallopian tubes and even the abdominal cavity through the vaginal opening. Therefore, keeping the vulva clean is an important means to prevent bacterial infection and ensure that the uterus does not become inflamed.

2. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene

Wash the vulva with clean warm water every day. At the same time, remember to change your underwear every day to ensure it is clean and dry. This is also the only way to prevent infection.

3. Strengthen dietary supplements

Eat more lean meat, chicken, eggs, quail eggs, crucian carp, turtle, white fish, cabbage, asparagus, celery, spinach, cucumber, winter melon, mushrooms, tofu, kelp, seaweed, fruits, etc. At the same time, avoid irritating foods such as peppers, peppercorns, raw onions, garlic, etc.

4. Take adequate rest

After surgery for endometrial cancer, patients should rest properly and avoid heavy physical labor so that their bodies can return to normal as soon as possible. At the same time, sexual intercourse should be prohibited to prevent infection of the reproductive organs.

5. Maintain a regular routine

After the treatment of endometrial cancer, even if the operation is successful, if the life after the operation is not regular, it will increase bleeding or leave sequelae. The regularity mentioned here refers more to eliminating bad habits such as smoking and drinking.

The early symptoms of endometrial cancer mainly include:

1. Increased vaginal discharge. Increased vaginal discharge mainly refers to increased leucorrhea, which is caused by the presence of cancer stimulating the hypersecretion of cervical glands. As the cancer develops, turbid, rice-washing water-like or purulent bloody serous fluid can be seen secreted from the vagina, with a special odor or even a foul smell. This is a symptom caused by necrosis and shedding of cancerous tissue and secondary infection. Some patients may also develop vulvitis secondary to this.

2. Pain. This is one of the common symptoms of cervical cancer in the late stage. The cancer compresses the nerves in the pelvic cavity, causing pain in the lower abdomen, lower back or thighs. If the cancer invades the rectum, constipation and anal swelling may occur. If it compresses the bladder, frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination and hematuria may occur.

3. Irregular vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding accounts for 80% of cervical cancer patients. This bleeding often starts after sexual intercourse or defecation. Some people bleed after physical activities or gynecological examinations. Menstruation is also irregular.

Warm reminder: The above introduces the early symptoms of endometrial cancer. I hope everyone will pay attention to it, especially since leucorrhea is relatively common in life. However, we must pay attention when abnormal symptoms of leucorrhea appear. This is a warning from endometrial cancer to us. Don’t simply think that it is some gynecological inflammation and ignore it, so as to miss the best time for treatment.
