Postoperative care for endometrial cancer

Postoperative care for endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer is more common in postmenopausal elderly people and obese people, which seriously threatens the life of patients. The tumor is highly malignant and poorly differentiated. Nursing is also essential when treating cervical cancer. So how should patients with endometrial cancer be cared for? The following is a detailed introduction, which I hope will be helpful to you in treatment and care.

Nursing routine for patients with endometrial cancer receiving chemotherapy

1. Psychological care

Listen to patients’ fears, discomfort and pain. Care for patients to gain their trust. Provide correct information, encourage patients to overcome adverse reactions to chemotherapy, and provide available support systems to help patients overcome the psychological dangers caused by hair loss.

2. Health guidance

Encourage patients to eat more, provide high-protein, high-vitamin, easily digestible food, instruct patients to rinse their mouths before and after eating, wipe their bodies and change clothes frequently, pay attention to rest, and maintain adequate sleep.

3. Medication care

Strictly follow the "three checks and seven comparisons" to ensure that the drug is prepared and used immediately, pay attention to protecting the vein, start from the distal end, strictly prevent the drug from extravasation, and adjust the drip rate according to the doctor's instructions. Patients undergoing intraperitoneal chemotherapy should change their lying position frequently to ensure the efficacy.

4. Observation of the condition

Observe body temperature, and whether there is gingival bleeding, nose bleeding, subcutaneous congestion or active vaginal bleeding tendency; whether there is abdominal pain or diarrhea; observe symptoms of cystitis, such as frequent urination, urgency, hematuria, etc.; observe skin reactions, such as rash; observe adverse reactions of the nervous system, such as limb numbness, muscle weakness, hemiplegia, etc.
