What are the symptoms of liver cancer in children

What are the symptoms of liver cancer in children

In recent years, due to the increasing environmental pollution, the phenomenon of children suffering from cancer has become increasingly prominent. Childhood cancer often occurs within 5 years after birth. Children of this age generally do not complain about their condition. Therefore, hospital experts and parents should pay close attention to their children's physical condition to achieve early detection and buy time for treatment. So what are the signs of childhood cancer?

1. The eyes reflect light abnormally. The eyes of infants and young children reflect light abnormally (like cat's eyes); or they have vision problems, strabismus, or protruding eyeballs.

2. Pain of unknown cause such as joint pain, abdominal pain, headache, etc.

3. Enlarged liver and spleen or a mass in the upper abdomen. The liver and spleen are close to the bottom of the ribs on both sides. If you press them with your hands, you can feel a lump, which means they are enlarged; or you can feel an obvious mass in the upper abdomen.

4. Unexplained lumps The child has unexplained lumps on the skin surface that tend to grow larger.

5. Neurological symptoms such as unexplained vomiting, unsteady walking, headache, facial nerve paralysis, etc.

6. Purpura or bleeding tendency: Bruise or purple-red bleeding spots often appear on the skin surface for no reason, or there is mucosal bleeding (such as nosebleeds, bleeding gums, etc.)

7. Unexplained systemic or local (such as submandibular, cervical, axillary, and groin) lymph node enlargement without tenderness.

8. Unexplained fever lasts for more than two weeks and is not effectively treated with antibiotics.

9. Pale face The child has a pale face for no reason, that is, the lips and conjunctiva are bloodless, accompanied by fatigue, loss of appetite, and gradual weight loss.

10. Routine blood examination reveals that the white blood cell count is too high or too low, or is accompanied by a decrease in red blood cells, hemoglobin and thrombocytopenia.

Statistics show that my country has reached internationally advanced levels in the treatment of childhood leukemia, liver cancer and other cancers, with a cure rate of over 70 percent. One of the main reasons for this is that children have strong regenerative recovery capabilities. If the disease is discovered early, even if some organs are removed, their body functions can still be normal in the future.
