What to do if non-invasive DNA is positive

A positive non-invasive DNA test usually requires amniocentesis to confirm the disease. Choosing to go to a regular hospital for examination can help you understand your own condition.

A positive non-invasive DNA result indicates that the fetus is highly suspected of having trisomy 21, but it cannot be completely confirmed and requires further amniocentesis. Amniocentesis is mainly performed under the guidance of ultrasound. A thin needle can pass through the pregnant woman's belly and uterine wall, enter the amniotic fluid cavity, extract some amniotic fluid, and then do testing. It is amniocentesis, which can accurately screen whether the fetus has symptoms of congenital malformations and defects.

The best time for amniocentesis is generally between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. The risk to yourself is relatively small. If deformities are found during amniocentesis and timely first-line measures are needed, you can go to the hospital for regular checkups to understand the condition of the fetus in the uterus. Non-invasive DNA can be used to check whether the child has chromosomal abnormalities. If the result is positive, further testing is required.

You need to rest more in your daily life and avoid overwork. You also need to choose some foods rich in protein and vitamins to enhance your nutrition and appetite. Avoid being in a state of tension and anxiety for a long time. Go outdoors more often to breathe some fresh air and avoid sulking.
