Treatment of gallbladder cancer metastasis

Treatment of gallbladder cancer metastasis

Gallbladder cancer grows rapidly after onset and is prone to spread and metastasis in the early stages. There are three main ways of metastasis: lymphatic metastasis, hematogenous metastasis, and direct infiltration. In the late stages of gallbladder cancer, distant metastasis often occurs, which can metastasize to tissues and organs such as bones and lungs. How should patients with gallbladder cancer be treated if metastasis occurs?

Clinically, comprehensive systemic treatment is advocated for the treatment of gallbladder cancer metastasis. For the primary lesion of gallbladder cancer, if the patient is in good physical condition and can tolerate surgery, palliative resection can be performed first; for patients with large lesions accompanied by distant metastasis who are not suitable for radical surgery, in order to relieve ulcer bleeding or pain, as long as the anatomical conditions permit, debulking or palliative resection can be considered. Further treatment is required after gallbladder cancer surgery to eliminate the remaining tumor cells in the body. This treatment method is called adjuvant therapy, and high-dose interferon a-2b combined with traditional Chinese medicine is often used for adjuvant therapy. It can enhance the body immunity of gallbladder cancer patients after surgery, quickly repair wounds, and inhibit the occurrence of complications, thereby ensuring the quality of life of patients after gallbladder cancer surgery.
For patients with gallbladder cancer liver metastasis who are weak and cannot tolerate surgery, combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy with traditional Chinese medicine are often used in clinical treatment. It can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells, control the further metastasis and deterioration of cancer cells, and thus control the further deterioration of the condition of patients with gallbladder cancer metastasis.
