What is the chance of lymphoma patients being cured?

What is the chance of cure for lymphoma? Lymphoma itself is a malignant tumor, and there is no such thing as a benign examination (even if it is benign, chemotherapy is not needed). Clinically, lymphoma is divided into Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. If the former is discovered early, the chemotherapy effect is obvious, and some can be cured. The chemotherapy effect of the latter is less effective.

The earlier the lymphoma is diagnosed, the higher the cure rate. The chance of lymphoma recurrence within 3-5 years after treatment is relatively high. The purpose of radiotherapy is to reduce the chance of recurrence. There are also clinical cases of recurrence after radiotherapy, so try to avoid recurrence after radiotherapy.
Most Hodgkin's disease can be cured with radiation therapy and chemotherapy, or both. Radiation therapy alone has a high cure rate of more than 90 percent for stage I or II lymphoma. Radiation therapy alone is sometimes given if the patient has no symptoms. Sixty-five to seventy-five percent of patients are cured. Adding chemotherapy increases the chance of cure to 75 to 80 percent. If the patient has symptoms, chemotherapy or radiation therapy should be given. The cure rate for these patients is between 70 and 80 percent. Combination chemotherapy is generally used for stage IV patients. Each chemotherapy cycle lasts 1 month, and the total course of treatment is 6 months or more. Other combination chemotherapy regimens are available. Even for patients at this advanced stage, more than half of the patients can be cured.
