Is the liver function normal for hepatitis C

Is the liver function normal for hepatitis C

Hepatitis C is also a common type of hepatitis in life. The condition of this type of hepatitis is different from the usual hepatitis A and hepatitis B. Compared with hepatitis A and hepatitis B, the condition of hepatitis C may be milder, but it is also caused by viral infection, and it is also contagious and hereditary. After contracting hepatitis C, the liver function will also be affected. So is the liver function of hepatitis C normal?

1 First of all, hepatitis C virus infection is the root cause of hepatitis C patients. Usually under the influence of external factors, such as drinking or fatigue, it can promote the development of the disease. And it can be transmitted through many ways, such as: blood, sexual transmission and so on.

2 Secondly, if people are found to be positive for hepatitis C during a physical examination but their liver function is normal, as long as they are diagnosed as hepatitis C patients with positive serum HCVRNA, they generally need antiviral treatment to help the body recover regardless of whether their liver function is normal or not.

3 Finally, patients should also pay attention when using antiviral treatment. If they are accompanied by alcoholism and drug abuse, they must quit drinking and drugs at the same time to treat hepatitis C. At the same time, it should be noted that for chronic hepatitis C accompanied by renal failure and not receiving dialysis, antiviral treatment should not be carried out.

Precautions

When patients are undergoing antiviral treatment, interferon should be used in the following conditions: pregnancy, history of mental illness such as severe depression, etc. Absolute contraindications for ribavirin: severe heart disease, etc.

Currently, there are about 40 million hepatitis C patients in my country, 80% of whom will suffer from chronic hepatitis C, of which about 10-30% will develop cirrhosis, and 5% to 10% of cirrhosis patients may develop liver cancer. However, what is tricky is that hepatitis C patients generally do not have particularly obvious symptoms, and general liver function tests can hardly detect any abnormalities.

Therefore, people with normal liver function in physical examinations still need to be wary of hepatitis C. Generally speaking, antiviral treatment for hepatitis B patients with normal liver function may not have much effect on the disease. However, for hepatitis C patients, regardless of whether they have symptoms or not, whether the transaminase is normal or not, as long as the hepatitis C antibodies and hepatitis C RNA are positive, antiviral treatment should be started as soon as possible. If liver function is repeatedly abnormal or liver biopsy histology shows obvious inflammatory necrosis or fibrosis, it is very easy to progress to cirrhosis, increasing the difficulty of treatment. It is recommended that high-risk groups actively undergo hepatitis C virus antibody testing to promote early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. People with unexplained abnormal liver function should pay attention to whether they have been infected with the hepatitis C virus and undergo hepatitis C testing as soon as possible.

Since hepatitis C is a blood-borne disease, anyone with a history of blood transfusion (especially those who had a blood transfusion before 1992), a history of promiscuous sex, or anyone who has shared razors, toothbrushes, tattoo tools, etc. should be tested for hepatitis C. In addition, dentists, nurses, beauticians, etc. are also at high risk of hepatitis C virus infection. They should pay great attention and be vigilant about this disease and actively undergo hepatitis C tests. If they are found to have typical symptoms of hepatitis C, they must actively undergo liver disease treatment.
