How to detect early brain cancer

How to detect early brain cancer

There are many types of early brain tumor diagnosis tests. Can blood tests detect brain tumors? The answer is yes, but it is impossible to further determine what type of brain tumor it is. There are many types of brain tumors. If it is a pituitary tumor and it is a prolactin-producing pituitary tumor. So how can early brain cancer be detected?

A routine blood test cannot reflect the characteristics of a brain tumor. A tumor may cause an increase in white blood cells and lymphocytes, and late-stage consumption may lead to anemia, etc. However, there are many reasons that can cause an increase in white blood cells or anemia, and they cannot reflect a brain tumor. It can only be said that characteristic tumor markers can be found in the blood for some tumors. Magnetic resonance imaging is required to confirm or classify a brain tumor.

Tumor markers are a part of routine blood tests and must be done. Some tumor secretions may be detected in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Cerebral spinal fluid can be obtained by lumbar puncture, and malignant tumor cells may be detected in the spinal fluid. Lumbar puncture is dangerous when intracranial pressure is increased. Now CT and MRI scans can determine whether the ventricles are enlarged, which greatly reduces this risk.

Okay, let's get back to the point. For the same tumor, some people have obvious effects with medication, while others have little effect. This is because of individual genetic differences and different tumor gene mutations, which lead to different drug effects. Domestic tertiary hospitals generally recommend genetic testing for tumor drugs, develop medication plans with higher efficacy and lower toxicity, and find symptomatic targeted drugs. For people with a family history of tumors, the risk can be checked through tumor susceptibility gene testing, which is of great clinical significance for tumor prevention.
