What are the hazards of liver puncture for liver cancer

Liver puncture is a liver tissue biopsy. It is very traumatic and many patients find it difficult to accept. Liver biopsy is not used as a routine examination in clinical practice. Generally, patients who must undergo liver puncture have liver disease that has developed to a certain stage. The liver is severely damaged. A large number of liver cells have degenerated and necrotic, and fibrous tissue has proliferated. The normal liver lobule structure and blood vessels have also been destroyed, and pseudolobules have formed. Generally speaking, they have reached the stage of cirrhosis. For liver puncture biopsy, the accuracy rate will be above 80%, which is currently a better examination method.

Most people will experience symptoms of local pain after puncture. At this time, we should carefully find the cause. If it is general tissue traumatic pain, it can be controlled with analgesics. If symptoms of pneumothorax, pleural shock or choleperitonitis occur, you should go to the hospital for timely treatment.

The incidence of bleeding after liver puncture is about one in one hundred thousand. Since the liver biopsy technology is very mature, as long as the indications and contraindications are well understood and adequate preparations are made before liver puncture, the operation of liver puncture biopsy can be done without any mistakes.

After the operation, you should stay in bed for 24 hours. Measure your pulse and blood pressure every 15-30 minutes within 4 hours. If you experience a fast and weak pulse, irritability, a drop in blood pressure, a pale face, cold sweats, or internal bleeding, you should get emergency treatment immediately. If there is no change, change to once an hour, for a total of 6 times, until you are sure that nothing is wrong.
