What to check for nasopharyngeal cancer blood test

Many friends are currently consulting about nasopharyngeal carcinoma on the Internet. What everyone is most concerned about is the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. There are many treatments for nasopharyngeal carcinoma on the market. How can patients choose the one that suits them? So, what should be checked in the blood test for nasopharyngeal cancer? Let's answer it together below.

The incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma ranks first among malignant tumors of the head and neck. It is of great clinical significance to clarify the nature and scope of the tumor at an early stage. In addition to imaging examinations, the examination methods also include neck palpation and laboratory tests.

1. Neck palpation

Hard, poorly mobile or immobile, painless and enlarged lymph nodes can be palpated deep in the neck. Cervical lymph node palpation is the main basis for staging NPC, but it is greatly affected by the experience of the examiner and individual differences of the patient, often leading to large deviations in the examination results. Consultation with multiple senior physicians can improve this defect.

2. What to check for nasopharyngeal cancer blood test

Epstein-Barr virus serological examination can be used as an auxiliary indicator for the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Currently, antibody tests such as Epstein-Barr virus capsid antibody (EBVCA), Epstein-Barr virus early antibody (EBEA), Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antibody (EBNA), and Epstein-Barr virus specific DNA enzyme have been carried out. Not only do patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma have high titers of anti-Epstein-Barr virus antibodies, but the antibody level fluctuates with the disease. Epstein-Barr virus infection is widely present in people all over the world, and the occurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma has obvious regional characteristics, indicating that Epstein-Barr virus infection is not the only factor causing nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

We hope that the above detailed introduction to nasopharyngeal carcinoma will be helpful to our nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. At the same time, the focus of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is prevention and treatment. No matter how severe your current nasopharyngeal carcinoma condition is, any disease should be treated early to reduce the harm caused by nasopharyngeal carcinoma to yourself.
