1. Examination of the nasopharynx: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma lacks clinical symptoms in its early stages and is difficult to detect. When cervical lymph node enlargement occurs, accompanied by ear, nose, and eye symptoms, the nasopharynx should be examined promptly. Mucosal hypertrophy, roughness, cauliflower-like, nodular or spherical tumors may be found in the nasopharynx. A biopsy should be taken. If no cancer cells are found, multiple biopsies are required.

2. X-ray examination of the lateral nasopharyngeal film shows diffuse thickening or local protrusion of the soft tissue of the posterior wall of the top. On the skull base film, if the skull base bone is invaded, irregular osteolytic defects with irregular edges or enlarged orifices may be seen.

3. CT scans have high resolution and can clearly show soft tissue density masses and bone destruction areas, the extent of lesions in the paranasopharyngeal spaces, and the involvement of the orbits, paranasal sinuses, pterygopalatine fossa and cavernous sinus. CT examinations are of great significance for the design of radiotherapy, selection of surgical methods and follow-up observations, and should be used as a routine examination.
