What are the symptoms of kidney cancer

The early symptoms of kidney cancer are often not obvious and are easily overlooked until local swelling or lumps, or even fractures, occur. Therefore, medical staff or patients should be alert to the possibility of kidney cancer when they encounter the following symptoms.

1. Pain Benign renal cancer is mostly painless, and only a few tumors such as osteoid osteoma have obvious pain. Malignant renal cancer almost always has pain. At the beginning, it is mostly mild intermittent dull pain or dull pain, which gradually worsens and becomes continuous pain. For those with obvious pain, sometimes it is difficult to take analgesics. Some patients hold the affected limbs and toss and turn because of the severe pain, and can't sleep all night; sometimes the pain may involve nearby joints, so that the joint movement is restricted, causing difficulty in walking. Osteosarcoma often has intermittent pain weeks or months before the swelling or lump appears, and soon it worsens and turns into continuous pain. The pain can be like a needle prick, knife cut, burning or drilling pain. Chondrosarcoma can be caused by the malignant transformation of benign enchondroma, so the disease generally develops slowly and the pain appears later. The pain is mainly dull pain, which is also intermittent pain at the beginning, and then gradually worsens and turns into continuous pain.

2. Local skin changes In the early stage, when the size of kidney cancer is relatively small, most of the skin changes are absent. When the tumor is large, especially in malignant kidney cancer, the local skin surface becomes tense, shiny, red, swollen, and purple, and there may be dilated blood vessels and increased surface temperature. Sometimes abnormal pulsation can be felt, and vascular murmurs can be heard with a stethoscope. The skin may adhere to the tissues below, become immobile, and cannot be lifted.
