The main treatment for renal cancer is radical nephrectomy, which removes the affected kidney and tumor, perirenal fat or adrenal gland, for the best effect. Kidney cancer can also be treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and biological treatment. Although the efficacy is not yet certain, great progress has been made in recent years, especially in biological treatment. The main drugs used in biological treatment are interleukin-2, lymphokine activated killer cells, tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, tumor necrosis factor, transfer factor, interferon, etc. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs are: cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and bleomycin. For patients with more extensive renal cancer invasion, renal artery embolization can be performed first to cause ischemia and necrosis of the renal tumor and shrinkage; surgery can be performed 2 weeks later to increase the chance of surgical resection. |
