Cervical cancer is not exclusive to the elderly

Cervical cancer seriously endangers women's health and life. There are about 130,000 new cases of cervical cancer in my country every year, and about 50,000 patients die from cervical cancer. Many young female friends think that they are still young and will not get cervical cancer, but this is not the case.

Although clinically speaking, cervical cancer mostly occurs in middle-aged and elderly women aged 45 to 60, but in recent years, with the changes in lifestyle and habits, the incidence of cervical cancer in young women is gradually increasing, and the age of onset is also becoming younger and younger. Patients under 35 years old are not uncommon in clinical practice, and even patients under 20 years old can be seen.

In addition, young cervical cancer patients have a higher proportion of poorly differentiated cancer and adenocarcinoma, which have poor treatment effects and are prone to tumor infiltration, spread and metastasis. Therefore, all female friends who have had sex for more than one year should receive regular health checks. According to American standards, the rule for sexually active women to receive gynecological examinations is: after the age of 18, a cervical cancer smear test is performed once a year. If there are no problems for three consecutive years, the test can be reduced to once every two years.

At present, the early detection technology of cervical cancer is very mature. The combination of liquid-based thin-layer cytology and HPV testing can detect the vast majority of cervical lesions. Modern detection technology has made cervical cancer the only tumor that can be expected to be fully controlled through efforts.
