There is no single cause of male breast cancer

Diseases are not gender-specific. Breast cancer patients include not only women but also men. Male breast cancer is not uncommon in daily life. A large-scale survey in the United States shows that the number of male breast cancer patients is increasing, and the causes of male breast cancer are also varied.

Family inheritance: Genetic factors are an important cause of male breast cancer. Surveys show that nearly 20% of male breast cancer patients have relatives suffering from similar diseases.

Liver disease: The liver plays a pivotal role in the metabolism of sex hormones because it produces binding proteins that carry hormones in the blood. Men with severe liver problems, such as cirrhosis, have low levels of male hormones and high levels of female hormones. Therefore, they are more likely to develop gynecomastia or breast cancer. In addition, those with long-term abnormal liver function are more likely to develop breast cancer.

Lack of exercise: Physical activity can reduce women's chances of developing breast cancer, while obesity in middle age can increase the risk of breast cancer because fat cells convert male hormones into female hormones.

Being too fat: Lack of exercise or an improper diet can lead to fat accumulation in the body. Too many fat cells will increase estrogen in the body and increase the chance of male breast cancer.

Excessive radiation: Strong radiation is a major factor in inducing cancer, and the same is true for male breast cancer. When a man's chest is exposed to a large amount of radiation, it may induce breast cancer.
