Common symptoms of early colon cancer

Colon cancer mainly occurs in people over the age of 45. The clinical manifestations of colon cancer vary with the size, location and pathological type of the lesion; many patients with early colon cancer have no clinical symptoms, but as the disease progresses and the lesion continues to grow, a series of common symptoms of colon cancer may occur.

Early symptoms: The earliest symptoms are abdominal distension, discomfort, and indigestion, followed by changes in bowel habits, such as increased frequency, diarrhea or abdominal pain before constipation; later there will be mucus in the stool or mucopurulent blood in the stool.

Symptoms of poisoning: Due to blood loss from tumor ulceration and absorption of toxins, patients often experience anemia, low fever, fatigue, weight loss, edema, etc.

Symptoms of intestinal obstruction: symptoms of incomplete or complete low intestinal obstruction, such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain (distension or colic), and constipation; physical examination may reveal a bulging abdomen, intestinal shape, local tenderness, and hyperactive bowel sounds.

Abdominal mass: It is a mass that is the tumor body or infiltrated and adhered to the omentum. It is hard and irregular in shape. Some of them may have a certain degree of mobility along the intestinal tract. In the late stage, the tumor infiltration is more severe and the mass may be fixed.
