Is ALT 65 considered high?

First of all, the normal reference value of alanine aminotransferase should be around 0-40. If it is checked to be 65, it is considered to be on the high side. When it is in a high state, people's appetite will decrease, and symptoms of nausea and vomiting will appear. Jaundice and pain in the liver area may also exist. It is not necessarily caused by hepatitis. Relevant protective measures should be taken to avoid worsening of the disease.

Alanine aminotransferase is mainly found in the liver, heart and skeletal muscle. Damage or necrosis of liver cells or certain tissues will cause an increase in alanine aminotransferase in the blood. High alanine aminotransferase levels generally have the following symptoms: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, pain in the liver area, etc.

The normal reference value of alanine aminotransferase is 0-40U/L. Elevated alanine aminotransferase (GPT, ALT) is a very common phenomenon in clinical practice. The liver is the largest detoxification organ in the human body. Whether this organ is normal or not is very important to the human body. Elevated alanine aminotransferase is an important indicator of liver function problems.

Among the common factors, various types of hepatitis can cause elevated GPT, which is caused by damage to the liver. Some drugs, such as anti-tumor drugs and anti-tuberculosis drugs, can cause liver damage. Drinking large amounts of alcohol and eating certain foods can also cause short-term damage to liver function.

When the alanine aminotransferase is too high, symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and pain in the liver area will appear. These symptoms will all manifest when the alanine aminotransferase is too high. Symptoms of high alanine aminotransferase are not necessarily caused by hepatitis. The cause of high alanine aminotransferase should be determined in a timely manner. It is recommended to check the hepatitis B two-pair-half test to determine whether there is hepatitis B virus infection. If the symptoms are severe, symptomatic treatment should be given.

In cases of biliary tract disease, symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and jaundice, and clinical examination may also show elevated blood bilirubin.

In heart disease, symptoms include chest tightness, shortness of breath, edema, palpitations, and clinical examinations show elevated aspartate aminotransferase.

In cases of liver disease, symptoms include low fever, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, insomnia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and discomfort in the liver area.
