Biological treatment of lymphoma

Lymphoma is mainly treated with chemotherapy, and comprehensive treatment combining radiotherapy and chemotherapy is the most common clinical treatment. For patients with hypersplenism and indications for splenectomy, splenectomy can be performed to improve blood counts and provide conditions for subsequent chemotherapy. In addition, lymphoma patients can also receive biological therapy and bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Biological treatments for lymphoma include:

1. Monoclonal Antibodies

Most non-Hodgkin's lymphomas are B-cell-based, and more than 90% express CD20. Hodgkin's lymphomas, which are mainly lymphocytes, also highly express CD20, so they can be treated with rituximab (CD20). Clinical trials have shown that monoclonal antibody treatment of lymphoma can significantly increase the complete remission rate and prolong disease-free survival time.

2. Interferon

Interferon therapy has partial remissions in patients with mycosis fungoides and follicular cleaved cell lymphoma.

3. Anti-Helicobacter pylori drugs

For gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, anti-Helicobacter pylori drugs can be used to kill Helicobacter pylori to relieve the patient's symptoms.

4. Antisense oligonucleotides for Bcl-2

Bcl-2 antisense oligonucleotides can reduce the expression of the Bcl-2 gene, induce apoptosis of lymphoma cells expressing Bcl-2, and target the treatment of lymphoma. This method can be used in combination with other treatment methods to improve the treatment effect.
