Typical manifestations of 2 common skin cancers

The skin originates from the ectoderm and mesoderm, and its tissue structure is extremely complex. Under the influence of various pathogenic factors, various tissues may undergo abnormal proliferation or canceration. Therefore, there are many types of skin cancer. The following introduces two common skin cancers and their typical manifestations:

1. Squamous cell carcinoma

Squamous cell carcinoma, also known as prickle cell carcinoma, is common in middle-aged people aged 30 to 50. It is mostly transformed from keratosis, mucosal leukoplakia and other precancerous diseases. It is common on the lower lip, tongue, nose, vulva or the junction of skin and mucosa. The ulcer has a raised, red and hard edge, and the surrounding inflammatory reaction is significant. There are often regional lymphadenopathy. It grows quickly and forms ulcers in the early stage. When accompanied by infection, it may have a foul odor and pain. Nodular or cauliflower-shaped tumors rarely infiltrate deep, and the base is movable; butterfly-shaped tumors often infiltrate deep, are more destructive, and often involve bones.

2. Basal cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma, also known as basal cell epithelioma, is common in people over 50 years old, and is common in the eye sockets, inner canthus, nose, cheeks, forehead, back of hands, etc. It develops slowly. In the early stage, it is mostly plaque-like papules with hard bases, some of which are wart-like protrusions, and then break into ulcers. The ulcers have irregular edges, waxy and nodular, rolled edges, like craters, and uneven bottoms. They are locally destructive, but rarely metastasize.
