A brief analysis of the treatment methods of the four major skin cancers

Scientific treatments for skin cancer can help patients control the deterioration of skin cancer in a timely manner and prolong the survival of skin cancer patients. What are the common treatments for skin cancer ? Here are some common treatments for skin cancer.

In general, common skin cancer treatments include:

(I) Scraping treatment: Dermatologists generally use scraping and electrodesiccation to treat basal cell carcinoma and superficial squamous cell carcinoma. The boundary between the tumor and the surrounding normal skin color is used for scraping. Before the operation, attention should be paid to the appropriate size of the scraper. The advantage is that a smooth and beautiful wound with only a small amount of pigmentation can be obtained. The disadvantage is that there is no pathological examination result of the cutting edge, and it is impossible to know whether there is cancer residue at the cutting edge. Therefore, this method should be used with caution. This is one of the most common treatments for skin cancer.

(II) Chemical Surgery: After fixing the tumor with zinc chloride paste, it is cut horizontally and sent for pathological examination until the base of the cut edge is cancer-free. This is very beneficial for the treatment of skin cancer. However, nowadays, the step of fixing the tissue with zinc chloride paste has been omitted. Fresh tissue is cut horizontally and sent for pathological examination continuously until the base of the cut edge is cancer-free. This method is suitable for cases with large lesions, unclear boundaries, and recurrence after treatment.

(III) Cryotherapy: Skin cancer that is suitable for curettage is also suitable for cryotherapy, especially for cases with fibrous components that are not suitable for curettage, and for cases that relapse after curettage and radiotherapy. However, the lesion must be limited to the skin, and those that invade other tissues and organs are not suitable for cryotherapy.

(IV) Radiotherapy: Both basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are very sensitive to radiotherapy, which means that the effect is very good. Before deciding on radiotherapy, the patient's age, gender, tumor history, anatomical location, cure and recurrence, and the final cosmetic effect must be considered. This is also an important treatment for skin cancer.

The above is an introduction to common skin cancer treatment methods. I believe everyone has some understanding of this. Patients should choose the skin cancer treatment method that suits them according to their actual condition and should not choose blindly.
