How much sleep is normal for a 1-year-old baby?

Everyone knows the importance of a good sleep for babies. If a baby does not sleep well for a long time, it will seriously affect the development of the body and cause a variety of diseases. Therefore, if you find that your baby does not sleep well, parents must take timely measures to solve the problem, such as adjusting the baby's sleeping environment. In addition, everyone should also have some basic common sense. Babies of different ages have different sleep times. So how long should a one-year-old baby sleep every day to be normal?

Sleeping hours for 1-year-old babies:

My baby is one year old. How much sleep time is appropriate every day? Some mothers are worried that their babies sleep too long, sometimes sleeping for 7 or 8 hours. Is there any problem? In fact, mothers don’t need to worry. For babies around one year old, the normal sleep time is about 12-13 hours a day, which varies from person to person.

Generally speaking, a one-year-old baby will sleep 10-12 hours every night and another 1-2 hours during the day. Some children are very energetic and sleep 8 or 9 hours at night, and also sleep 3 or 4 hours during the day. Some children sleep more, maybe 10 hours or more a night, and another 3 or 4 hours during the day.

So how do you arrange your baby’s sleeping time? Generally speaking, a one-year-old baby sleeps 1-2 hours each in the morning and afternoon, and starts sleeping around 7-9 o'clock in the evening and sleeps until waking up the next morning, about 8-10 hours. It is recommended not to let the baby sleep after 5 pm and before 7 pm, as this will cause the baby to wake up in the middle of the night and the adults will not be able to rest well.

After one year old, children must get more than 14 hours of sleep a day. Generally speaking, they should go to bed before ten o'clock and get up at seven or eight o'clock the next day. In this way, the sleep time is guaranteed to be 12 hours. At the end, a two-hour lunch break should be arranged in the afternoon. This is better. In order to arrange a reasonable sleep time, nutrition should keep up. Generally, if you arrange the sleep time before ten o'clock, you should pat the child on the back to make her feel safe. That's all.

The total sleep time of a one-year-old baby is about 13 to 14 hours a day, including a two-hour nap, but each baby is different. Your baby may not sleep as much as this. But as long as the baby is energetic during the day and his weight and height grow at a normal rate, it is normal.
