Edible cassava modified starch

Edible cassava modified starch

Starch is a kind of food that we often come into contact with in our lives. Many people add some starch to soup when making it, so that the soup tastes particularly thick. The starch we usually come into contact with is made from potatoes. Its appearance is similar to white flour, but it is whiter than white flour. Some starch is also made from cassava. So is edible cassava modified starch useful?

Cassava starch is divided into industrial cassava starch and edible cassava starch.

Cassava starch must meet national food standards before it can be eaten.

Some cassava starch manufacturers may use sulfurous acid to whiten starch when extracting it from fresh cassava in order to pursue the so-called starch whiteness.

When most cassava starch manufacturers use dry cassava flakes to extract cassava starch, they prefer to use sulfurous acid for bleaching when soaking cassava flour, because the whiteness of starch extracted from dry cassava flakes is not very ideal.

Sulfite residues in starch can easily cause respiratory diseases after consumption.

In fact, there is no need to add so-called bleaching agents when producing cassava, whether it is fresh cassava or dried cassava flakes.

If you are a big customer in the food industry, when purchasing cassava starch, you should inspect the starch factory and conduct starch quality inspection, and only buy it after it meets the national food standards.

I personally like to soak the meat in a small amount of tapioca starch and soy sauce before cooking it. This way the meat will be soft, smooth and tasty.
