In fact, most of the time we all feel uncomfortable at night. This is because when people calm down at night, they will feel some changes and abnormalities in the body, which can prompt us to have different feelings. If the heart rate is 35 times when sleeping, this is relatively low, but it is normal during cardiac ultrasound. What's going on?

Standard heart rate

1. There are significant individual differences in the heart rate of normal adults at rest, with an average of around 75 beats/minute (between 60-100 beats/minute). Heart rate can vary depending on age, gender, and other physiological conditions. The heart rate of a newborn is very high, reaching over 130 beats per minute. Among adults, women generally have a slightly faster heart rate than men. For the same person, the heart rate slows down when the person is at rest or sleeping, and speeds up when the person is exercising or emotionally excited. Under the influence of certain drugs or neurohumoral factors, the heart rate can speed up or slow down. People who regularly engage in physical labor and exercise usually have a slower heart rate. In recent years, a large-sample survey of healthy people in China found that the normal range of resting heart rate for Chinese men is 50-95 beats/minute, and for women it is 55-95 beats/minute. So, heart rate varies with age, gender, and health status.

2. The heart rate of a healthy adult is 60 to 100 beats per minute, most of them are 60 to 80 beats per minute, and women are slightly faster; children under 3 years old are often above 100 beats per minute; the elderly are slower. A heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute in an adult (generally not more than 160 beats/minute) or more than 150 beats/minute in an infant is called sinus tachycardia. It is common in normal people after exercise, excitement, agitation, smoking, drinking and strong tea. It can also be seen in fever, shock, anemia, hyperthyroidism, heart failure and the use of atropine, epinephrine, ephedrine, etc. If the heart rate is between 160 and 220 beats per minute, it is often called paroxysmal tachycardia. A heart rate lower than 60 beats/minute (generally above 40 beats/minute) is called sinus bradycardia. It can be seen in people who engage in heavy physical labor for a long time and in athletes; pathologically, it can be seen in hypothyroidism, increased intracranial pressure, obstructive jaundice, and overdose or poisoning of digitalis, quinidine, or propranolol. If the heart rate is less than 40 beats/min, atrioventricular block should be considered. A heart rate that is too fast, exceeding 160 beats/minute, or less than 40 beats/minute, is mostly seen in patients with heart disease. Patients often experience palpitations, chest tightness, and discomfort in the precordial area. A detailed examination should be conducted early so that treatment can be targeted at the cause. 3) The amount of blood pumped from the ventricles to the arteries each time the heart contracts is called the stroke volume, and the amount of blood pumped by the heart per minute is called the minute volume. The stroke volume of a normal person in a resting state is 70 ml. If the heart rate is calculated at 75 beats per minute, the minute volume is approximately 5250 ml. The amount of cardiac output is an indicator of the heart's working capacity.

Bradycardia

The normal heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. A rate of less than 60 is called bradycardia. There are several types of bradycardia, the most common of which is sinus bradycardia. Sinus bradycardia can be divided into pathological and physiological types. Physiological sinus bradycardia is a normal phenomenon. The general heart rate and pulse are 50 to 60 beats per minute. Athletes may have a heart rate of 40 beats per minute. No treatment is required. It is common in normal people during sleep and those who engage in more physical activities. A heart rate or pulse of less than 50 beats is mostly pathological and requires treatment. In severe cases, a pacemaker may be installed to speed up the heart rate.

Bradycardia can be physiological or pathological. Physiological bradycardia does not require treatment and is a normal reaction. Pathological bradycardia requires treatment, which is mainly due to insufficient blood supply to the heart, causing increased heart load. Therefore, a combination of oxygen therapy and drug therapy is the best and most effective treatment.

Normal people, especially those who participate in long-term physical exercise or heavy physical labor, may experience sinus bradycardia. Sleepiness and fear can also cause temporary bradycardia. For example, some techniques such as compressing the eyeball, pressing the carotid sinus, vomiting, and vasoinhibitory syncope can cause sinus bradycardia. For severe sinus bradycardia, especially in those with a history of fainting, an adult heart rate of less than 60 beats per minute is called bradycardia. However, for those who have undergone long-term physical exercise or heavy physical labor, although their heart rate is only 50 to 60 beats per minute, they are energetic and have no discomfort, so they are not pathological. If the normal heart rate is 70 to 80 beats per minute and drops below 40 beats per minute, the patient will feel palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness and fatigue. In severe cases, there will be difficulty breathing, stuffy brain, and sometimes a feeling of impact in the precordial area. In more serious cases, the patient may suddenly faint due to insufficient cardiac output.
