Some older people find that they have obvious pain in their waist when it is cloudy and rainy. So what is the reason for a person's waist pain when it is cloudy and rainy?

Lower back pain occurs on cloudy and rainy days. This is usually caused by a previous lower back injury, which results in obstruction of the tendons and blood vessels in the lower back, leading to blood stasis. This causes pain, especially on cloudy and rainy days. The surrounding environment becomes cold, the air pressure drops and the humidity increases, which causes some small contraction changes in the local scars on the lower back, thereby pulling the nerves near the muscles and tendons, causing pain.

What is lumbar muscle strain?

Lumbar muscle strain is a well-known lumbar disease, which is actually a chronic lumbar strain. It is mainly caused by two reasons:

One is that after an acute lumbar sprain, the patient is not treated promptly and reasonably, resulting in the formation of chronic traumatic scars and adhesions in the lumbar muscles, which weakens the strength of the lumbar muscles and causes low back pain.

Another reason is long-term, cumulative lumbar trauma, such as some repairmen who work in a sitting position for a long time and often operate in non-physiological positions, as well as watchmakers and typists who work in a fixed posture for a long time. In addition, some workers who need to bend over may suffer cumulative damage to the waist and form lumbar muscle strain if they do not pay attention to their posture and strengthen their back muscle exercises.

Symptoms of lumbar muscle strain:

1. There may be tenderness in the waist, or there may be no tenderness at all. Long-term recurring lower back pain or distension, sometimes with tingling or burning pain.

2. Reduce the pressure appropriately when you are active and change your body position frequently, and when you are resting. It is aggravated by rainy and humid days, excessive fatigue, excessive activity and cold weather.

3. You cannot persist in bending over while working. Bending over for too long will increase the pain and make it difficult to straighten your back. They are often forced to stretch their waist or hit their waist with fists from time to time to relieve the pain.

4. There is usually no abnormality in the appearance and movement of the waist, and there is no obvious lumbar muscle spasm. A few patients have slightly restricted waist movement. Laboratory examinations show no characteristics, and X-rays can rule out bone diseases, or only structural defects. Most cases are normal, but a few may have bone hyperplasia or spinal deformities.

Traditional Chinese medicine has a wealth of knowledge about lumbar muscle strain. As a chronic injury disease of soft tissues such as lumbar muscles, fascia and ligaments, traditional Chinese medicine believes that the occurrence of lumbar muscle strain is related to untimely or improper treatment of acute lumbar sprain, cumulative injury, congenital malformation of the lumbar spine, climate and environmental factors. Therefore, in order to ensure the effectiveness of treatment, attention should be paid to eliminating the causes of lumbar muscle strain. For the treatment of lumbar muscle strain, we should adhere to the principle of treating the symptoms in an urgent manner and treating the root cause in a slow manner, seek the cause through dialectical analysis, treat both the symptoms and the root cause, and cure the disease from the root. This is an organic combination of both opposition and unity. Early detection and treatment are recommended.
