Acid reflux bleeding

There are sphincters in both the upper and lower parts of the esophagus, and the sphincter mainly plays a contraction function to prevent food eaten into the stomach from flowing back out of the esophagus. However, when the sphincter loses its contraction function, it will cause acid reflux. For most people, acid reflux only causes vomiting, but for a small number of people, acid reflux is more serious and can cause bleeding. What is the cause of bleeding due to acid reflux?

1. Causes of acid reflux bleeding

It is considered to be caused by acute gastritis. It is recommended that if the amount of bleeding is not large, you can take medicine first. You need to take rabeprazole and avoid eating spicy and irritating foods. If the amount is large, you need to have a gastroscopy.

2. What is acid reflux?

Acid reflux is different from stomach acid. Stomach acid means that the patient secretes too much acid, which can cause a burning and painful feeling in the stomach. What is acid reflux? It is the acid in the stomach that is refluxed upwards. Where does it go? Often it goes up to the esophagus, and some people go up to the mouth. If it goes up to the mouth, the pharynx and oral cavity will become sour, and sometimes there will be a burning sensation. We call this acid reflux. It indicates not only high acid secretion, but also gastric reverse peristalsis, which causes gastric juice to be discharged from the stomach into our esophagus instead of into the duodenum normally, and then flow back up and even into our mouth. We call this gastric reflux.

Treatment of acid reflux

1. Recipe 1: Gardenia Soup

[Ingredients]: 14 grams of Gardenia, 4 grams of Rhubarb, 10 grams of Moutan Bark, 10 grams of Sophora flavescens, 6 grams of Dalbergia odorifera, 15 grams of White Peony Root, 8 grams of Citrus aurantium, 30 grams of Hematite, 12 grams of Bamboo Shavings, 18 grams of Donkey-hide Gelatin, 6 grams of Bletilla striata (grind into powder and take with water), 5 grams of Cuttlebone (grind into powder and take with water).

[Dosage]: Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water twice and take 300ml of juice. Take it slowly in 2 doses in supine position. One course of treatment is 3 weeks, and the efficacy is evaluated after one course of treatment.

Indications: Reflux esophagitis, burning pain under the sternum, aggravated by lying flat or bending over, difficulty swallowing, nausea and vomiting, dry and bitter mouth, red tongue with yellow coating, and rapid and stringy pulse.

2. Method 2:

Bletilla striata paste

[Ingredients]: 210 grams of dandelion, 70 grams of white hyacinth, 35 grams of Panax notoginseng (ground into powder), 5 eggs (take the liquid), 100 grams of honey. First, boil dandelion and white hyacinth in water twice, boil for 1 hour each time, remove the residue, take 1000ML of juice in total, filter and let stand, take the supernatant and put it in a pot, evaporate and concentrate it to 100ML over low heat, and you will get a clear paste. Then add Panax notoginseng, egg white, honey and water and mix well to get a decoction. Bottle it for later use. The above dosage is for 7 days per person.

[Dosage]: Before taking the medicine, drink a small amount of warm water to flush the esophagus, then lie flat on the bed and slowly swallow the decoction, 3 to 6 times a day, 7 days as a course of treatment. Avoid eating fried or spicy food during the medication period. Flush the esophagus with warm water after eating.

Main indications: reflux esophagitis.
