How to check blood in stool

How to check blood in stool

The stool of a normal person is generally light yellow, and the color of the stool is closely related to a person's diet. However, if you observe blood in your stool, you must go to the hospital to check whether there is a gastrointestinal disease. Before many patients with bloody stools go to the hospital for examination, they will consider a question: how should bloody stools be examined?

1. Bloody stool symptoms examination

1. Stool examination

For patients with mucus and blood in their stools, routine stool examination and microscopic examination for amoeba and schistosoma eggs should be performed. For those suspected of having infectious enteropathies, stool bacterial culture should be performed to identify pathogenic bacteria so that antimicrobial drugs can be selected against the pathogenic bacteria.

2. Blood and bone marrow examination

Patients with bloody stools who also have systemic subcutaneous hemorrhage and bleeding in other parts of the body should be considered for hemorrhagic diseases. Examinations of platelet count, coagulation mechanism, and bone marrow smear should be performed.

3. Fiber colonoscopy

For lower gastrointestinal bleeding, except for clear anal fissures and hemorrhoidal bleeding, bleeding lesions in other parts of the body generally need to be confirmed by fiber colonoscopy. The diagnostic rate is very high for lesions on the surface of the intestinal mucosa. However, there is a type of patient clinically who has both colorectal tumors and hemorrhoids. They often attribute bloody stools to hemorrhoids and ignore fiber colonoscopy, which leads to misdiagnosis. When hemorrhoids fail to heal and blood in the stool persists, patients should be advised to undergo a colonoscopy.

4. Electronic anorectal imaging examination

Examination of the anus and lower rectum. By using medical video and digital camera technology, both the doctor and the patient can clearly observe the lesion site magnified dozens of times during the examination and choose a treatment plan based on the condition. At the same time, the lesion can be locked and then imaged, providing a basis for comparison before and after treatment.

Treatment of bloody stools

1. Internal hemorrhoids leading to bleeding in stool: Circularly remove the mucosa and submucosal tissue of the intestinal wall of the lower end of the rectum near the upper edge of the prolapsed internal hemorrhoids, and at the same time, anastomose the mucosa at the distal and proximal ends, so that the prolapsed internal hemorrhoids and mucosa are suspended and pulled upwards and no longer prolapse.

2. Anal fissure, mixed hemorrhoids, intestinal polyp bleeding: HCPT minimally invasive surgery can be used. With the help of minimally invasive incisions, the lesion base can be peeled off secretly to completely eliminate the disease and the root cause of blood in the stool;

3. Bleeding in stool caused by colorectal inflammation: A unique immune repair therapy can be used to combine the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating the root cause with the rapid effectiveness of Western medicine. At the same time, colon hydrotherapy can be used to assist in the treatment of enteritis, improve the body's immunity, and eliminate the root causes of recurrence of enteritis.

4. Rectal cancer bleeding: Traditional surgical treatment of colorectal cancer often involves cutting the anal canal and rectum at the same time, and the patient can only rely on an artificial anus to survive. The anal preservation technique is now used, which can not only eliminate the lesions but also preserve the anal function, achieving the effect of killing two birds with one stone.
