Left groin swelling

Left groin swelling

The groin is located at the bottom of the abdomen and the top of the thigh, so when bloating and pain occur in the groin, it may be a problem with the digestive system or a problem with some part of the thigh. When groin pain occurs, it is important to find the location of the pain so that the right medicine can be prescribed. So what if it is groin pain on the left side?

Groin pain is a common clinical symptom. Many people occasionally feel abdominal pain. There are many reasons for groin pain. The spoiled food will cause stomach pain. This is normal. Groin pain is also a manifestation of certain other diseases. Well, let's first take a look at the relevant knowledge about what causes abdominal pain.

Steps/Methods:

1. First: The location of abdominal pain often indicates the location of the lesion and is an important factor in differential diagnosis. However, many visceral pains are often poorly localized. Therefore, the location of tenderness is more important than the location where the patient feels pain. The radiation location of pain can also provide certain hints for diagnosis. For example, biliary tract diseases often cause radiating pain in the right shoulder and back, and the pain of pancreatitis often radiates to the left waist. Renal colic often radiates to the perineum.

2. Second: The degree of groin pain reflects the severity of the disease to a certain extent. Generally speaking, the pain of gastrointestinal perforation, liver and spleen rupture, acute pancreatitis, biliary colic, renal colic, etc. is more severe, while the pain of ulcer disease, mesenteric lymphadenitis, etc. is relatively mild. However, the feeling of pain varies from person to person, especially in the elderly, who sometimes feel dull pain, such as in acute appendicitis, or even not feel abdominal pain until perforation occurs. The nature of pain is roughly related to its degree. Severe pain is often described by patients as knife-like pain or colic, while milder pain may be described as soreness or distension. The pain in patients with biliary ascariasis is often described as drilling pain, which is more characteristic.

3. Third: The rhythm of groin pain has a strong suggestive effect on diagnosis. Lesions of solid organs are mostly manifested as continuous pain, while lesions of hollow organs are mostly manifested as paroxysmal pain. Persistent pain with paroxysmal aggravation is more common in cases where inflammation and obstruction coexist, such as cholecystitis with biliary obstruction, late stage of intestinal obstruction with peritonitis, etc.

Note:

Everyone has a certain understanding of the causes of groin pain. During treatment, it is recommended to use a combination of multiple methods. Combining drug treatment with non-drug treatment methods will have a good effect.
