What to do about welder pneumoconiosis_The best way to treat pneumoconiosis

Pneumoconiosis may be a disease that most people don’t know about. It is understood that a celebrity has been doing charity activities for pneumoconiosis for a long time, and his influence is quite large, saving many people. The occurrence of pneumoconiosis is related to work, and welders can also suffer from pneumoconiosis. So what should welders do if they have pneumoconiosis? What is the best way to treat pneumoconiosis? Although there is no good treatment that can cure pneumoconiosis patients, the progression of the disease can still be controlled through medication and ventilator treatment.

How to treat welder's pneumoconiosis

1. Treatment plan for welder pneumoconiosis

There is currently no specific treatment for welder's pneumoconiosis. The main thing is to detect the patients early, remove them from the welding environment in time, and stop them from working with dust. There are reports of using deferoxamine and calcium disodium edetate (EDTA) to remove iron retained in the body and reduce serum iron levels, but the effect is not certain. Increase nutrition, arrange recuperation for patients, and engage in appropriate activities to improve physical condition and increase resistance. For those with obvious symptoms, symptomatic treatment and infection control can be used.

2. Whole lung lavage can be used to treat welder pneumoconiosis

The fibrosis of pneumoconiosis is an irreversible disease and there is no cure in the world. We advocate comprehensive treatment with large-volume whole lung lavage as the main method, which can effectively alleviate the pain of pneumoconiosis patients, improve their quality of life, delay the development of lesions, and prolong their lifespan. After the first report of a case of mixed pneumoconiosis treated with staged large-volume lung lavage in the United States in 1982, this work was carried out in China in 1986. In 1991, our center achieved simultaneous large-volume lavage of both lungs. This therapy can remove a large amount of dust, dust-engulfing macrophages, fibrogenic factors and inflammatory factors, providing a new approach for the treatment and secondary prevention of pneumoconiosis.

3. Welders' pneumoconiosis can be treated with fibrotic drugs

This method is mainly to prevent dust from depositing in the lungs, increase the lung's clearance function, reduce the toxicity of dust to cells; protect alveolar macrophages and prevent biofilm destruction; inhibit fibroblasts from forming collagen; inhibit immune response; decompose collagen, polysaccharides and lipoproteins in silicotic lesions that have formed; inhibit leukocyte damage to lung tissue and fibrosis; inhibitors of various regulatory factors, etc.

How to prevent welder pneumoconiosis

After understanding the treatment methods for welder's pneumoconiosis, prevention is the key. There is no effective treatment for pneumoconiosis, so we often need to take effective prevention measures.

Electric welding smoke is an aerosol with extremely fine particles formed by oxidation and condensation in the air due to the melting and evaporation of flux, electrode core and welded materials caused by high temperature. The simplest protective measures for staff are to pay attention to ventilation and personal protection. Improve ventilation and dust prevention facilities in the workplace to reduce dust concentration as much as possible. Reform the process and make full use of automatic welding. Try to use low-toxic and low-dust welding electrodes. When welding, you must wear a dust mask. If you are welding inside a tank, you should wear an air mask and an air helmet. In addition, you should take chest X-rays regularly to check your body. If respiratory or cardiovascular diseases are found during the physical examination, you should be transferred from the job.
