After suffering from sinusitis, the patient will find that there is always snot in the nose, but no matter how hard he tries, the snot cannot come out. So at this time, the patient must use some medicine for treatment. You can use some sprays or take some oral medicines. But at the same time, you must pay attention to taking some anti-inflammatory drugs, because only when the inflammation is eliminated can the condition improve. So how to remove sinusitis secretions?

Different sinusitis conditions have different hazards. Severe sinusitis can cause intracranial complications:

1. Direct infection, causing pharyngitis and other lower respiratory tract diseases: The nasal cavity is directly connected with the oral cavity, pharynx, lower respiratory tract and digestive tract. The secretions of rhinitis and sinusitis are drained downward, directly stimulating these tissues and causing various diseases.

2. Systemic complications caused by lymphatic infection: The lymphatic vessels of the nasal cavity or sinuses directly transmit inflammatory substances to other organs or tissues, causing disease. Among the harms that sinusitis causes to the body, this is one of the most significant.

3. Cause intracranial complications: When epidural abscess occurs, the symptoms are not typical and diagnosis is difficult. In addition to nasal symptoms, there may be worsening headache (especially in the supine position), nausea and vomiting, and slow pulse. When complicated by subdural abscess, the subjective symptoms include headache, fever and meningeal irritation signs. In severe cases, paralysis or convulsion of the contralateral facial and upper limb muscles may occur, and rupture of the abscess may cause purulent meningitis.

4. Lesions and descending infections: Purulent secretions from the sinuses flow downward from the nasopharynx, which can cause pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, tracheitis and other diseases. Purulent sinusitis, as an infection focus, can also cause infectious arthritis, tenosynovitis and skin diseases.

5. Lead to osteomyelitis: Chronic suppurative sinusitis that does not heal for a long time is prone to cause osteomyelitis of the frontal, sphenoid, ethmoid and maxillary bones. It is common in frontal bone osteomyelitis. In addition to tenderness in the sinus area, the headache is characterized by dull pain like stuffiness and distension. If osteomyelitis does not heal for a long time, there may be yellow-green nasal discharge, and X-rays may show unclear bone structure, dead bone formation, and sinus bone wall defects.
