Is there any lung metastasis after laryngeal cancer surgery?

Is lung metastasis found after laryngeal cancer surgery?

If the lungs are found to have metastatic tumors after laryngeal cancer surgery, or due to pneumonia, tuberculosis, etc., you need to actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment to avoid delaying treatment and worsening the condition.

1. Pneumonia: After laryngeal cancer surgery, the patient's body resistance is low. If they smoke frequently or are infected with pathogens, pneumonia may occur. Inflammation will invade the lungs, easily leading to local inflammatory exudation, accompanied by symptoms such as cough and asthma. Under the guidance of a doctor, oral medications such as amoxicillin capsules, penicillin V potassium tablets, and cefuroxime axetil tablets can be taken.

2. Pulmonary tuberculosis: It can be caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The disease is highly contagious and can be transmitted through respiratory droplets. Mycobacterium tuberculosis can also cause lung tissue lesions and nodules, accompanied by symptoms of cough, asthma, and coughing up blood. It can be treated with oral isoniazid tablets, rifampicin tablets, pyrazinamide tablets and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Tumor metastasis: Laryngeal cancer is a malignant tumor disease with the characteristics of infiltration and metastasis. If cancer cells metastasize to the lungs, they will invade the lungs and cause local lesions. During imaging examinations, shadows will appear locally, accompanied by symptoms such as coughing, asthma, and sputum. It can be treated by lobectomy.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, it may also be the cause of lung cancer. During the treatment process, taking medication according to the doctor's advice, quitting smoking and drinking, and developing good living habits will help the recovery of the disease.
