In addition to nasal symptoms, there may be worsening headache (especially in supine position), nausea, vomiting, slow pulse, etc. When complicated with subdural abscess, the subjective symptoms include headache, fever and meningeal irritation signs. In severe cases, paralysis or convulsion of the contralateral facial and upper limb muscles may occur, and rupture of the abscess may cause purulent meningitis.

2. Osteomyelitis: Chronic suppurative sinusitis that does not heal for a long time can easily cause osteomyelitis of the skull, sphenoid, ethmoid, and maxillary bones. It is common in frontal bone osteomyelitis. In addition to tenderness in the sinus area, the headache is characterized by dull pain like stuffiness and distension. If osteomyelitis does not heal for a long time, there may be yellow-green nasal discharge, and X-rays may show unclear bone structure, dead bone formation, and defects in the sinus bone wall.

3. Lesions and descending infections: Purulent secretions from the sinuses flow downward from the nasopharynx, which can cause pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, tracheitis and other diseases. Purulent sinusitis, as an infection focus, can also cause infectious arthritis, tenosynovitis and skin diseases.
