Should children's loose teeth be extracted?

A person grows teeth twice in his life, once for deciduous teeth and once for permanent teeth. A person has no teeth when he is born. As he grows older, he will grow deciduous teeth. However, when he reaches a certain age, the deciduous teeth will become loose and go through a period of tooth replacement. Many parents are very concerned about their children's tooth replacement period, because the quality of teeth during the tooth replacement period affects a person's teeth throughout his life. If a child has loose teeth, should they be removed?

1. Generally speaking, whether loose teeth need to be extracted depends on the degree of looseness. If the degree of looseness of the tooth is 1-2 degrees, the tooth may be worth retaining and can be used as an abutment tooth for a removable or fixed restoration in the future. If the degree of looseness of the tooth has reached 3 degrees, it often needs to be extracted.

2. Loose teeth are caused by many factors. The treatment methods are different depending on the causes and the degree of looseness. Generally speaking, teeth have slight physiological mobility, mainly in the horizontal direction, and also have very small axial mobility, which does not exceed 0.02 mm. If it exceeds this physiological range, it is mostly due to lesions around the teeth.

3. Generally speaking, single-root teeth are more likely to become loose than multi-root teeth, and teeth with short roots are more likely to become loose than teeth with thick and long roots. Loose teeth are most common in teeth suffering from periodontal disease. At this time, the alveolar bone is absorbed and the gums shrink. The degree of alveolar bone absorption in different parts is different, and the degree of tooth looseness is also different.

Suggestions: So as not to affect the growth of new teeth and cause them to grow crookedly!

5. Children's tooth replacement is a normal physiological phenomenon. Most start around 6 years old. The deciduous teeth will gradually fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth. If a child's deciduous teeth have become loose, unless there are special circumstances, such as permanent teeth having already erupted from other parts of the body, they should be allowed to fall out naturally.

Suggestions: Forced extraction of deciduous teeth will result in large amounts of bleeding and wounds, which can easily lead to infection and other adverse phenomena.

6. If it is a young permanent tooth, the tooth is not loose and can be left untreated. However, if it is loose, it needs to be fixed with a periodontal splint.

Observe for 4 weeks after fixation, and the tooth will grow well. If a tooth turns black, root canal treatment is required. If the root apex is not fully developed, apical induction is required.
