Everyone has ribs on both sides. These ribs are very useful for the human body, especially in the upper part of the ribs. They have the function of protecting the internal organs of the human body. However, some patients may feel pain when pressing the ribs. When the ribs are pressed, the most feared thing is that they are caused by intercostal neuritis, because this disease is more serious. So why is it a little painful when pressing the right ribs? There are three types of pain when pressing on the right ribs: The first type: slight pain, which may be a manifestation of intercostal neuralgia or costochondritis, is mainly related to factors such as diet and personal constitution. The advice is to avoid eating sour, spicy or irritating foods, quit smoking and drinking, drink plenty of water and keep a good mood. If there is no improvement for a long time, you should go to the hospital for a check-up. The second type: dull pain or stabbing pain. The location you pointed out is generally the liver area (just a rough judgment). If it is a dull pain and it is relieved by pressing with your hand, please explore it in the following way: Lie flat on your back, bend your knees, expose your abdomen, and ask a relative or friend to use one hand and fingers to gently explore the edge of the liver on the right side of the navel and below the right rib margin. If the liver can be touched, you will generally feel obvious tenderness. It is recommended to seek medical attention immediately. However, if your liver is not in good condition, you should also feel symptoms such as anorexia, aversion to greasy food, fatigue, etc. If it is a stabbing pain and the pain changes with changing body position, it may be intercostal neuralgia. Compared with the symptoms mentioned above, this should be a minor illness. However, if it occurs frequently, you should go to the hospital for a check-up to put your mind at ease. The third type: severe pain. If it is severe pain and lasts for a long time, it is not easy to judge. Pancreatic pain and gallbladder pain will radiate pain along the meridians. However, the pain of pancreatic pain and gallbladder pain is very strong, sometimes manifesting as abdominal pain, and sometimes causing pain in the shoulders and back. Pancreatic pain is sometimes accompanied by high fever, chills, or steatorrhea. Regardless of the cause of the severe pain, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid missing the best time. |
