How to disinfect after ear piercing

How to disinfect after ear piercing

Not only women like to get their ears pierced, but now more and more men are also getting their ears pierced for fashion. Getting an ear piercing is a very simple thing, but disinfection afterwards is very important, especially in the summer, when it is easy to get inflamed, infected, and swollen and painful. This is caused by not doing the usual disinfection work properly. So, how do you disinfect your ears after piercing? Let’s take a look below.

Keep dry first

After piercing your ears, do not use alcohol or the like to disinfect them at first, as this will cause the wound to become infected and cause suppuration. Instead, keep the ear holes dry and do not spray any liquid on them, no matter what.

Using Hydrogen Peroxide

Generally, the ear piercing done on the first day will be less red and swollen on the second day. At this time, you can use hydrogen peroxide to disinfect the ear piercing, but be careful not to touch it with your hands. Instead, use a sterile cotton ball.

Using erythromycin ointment

Generally, beauty salons will tell customers that they do not need to apply ointment after getting their ears pierced. However, many people suffer from ear inflammation, so it is best to disinfect with alcohol every day and then apply erythromycin ointment for anti-inflammatory purposes.

Rotate the earrings after three days without inflammation

When you get your ears pierced, you will wear ear studs. In the first three days, you must not touch the ear studs. After three days, if there is no redness, swelling or other inflammation, you can disinfect the ear studs and rotate them to prevent the ear studs from growing together with the wound. Remember to use alcohol to reduce inflammation after rotating them.
