Sleeping posture for appendicitis

Sleeping posture for appendicitis

Appendicitis is a very troubling problem for many people, and most appendicitis problems are treated with surgery. After surgical treatment for appendicitis, many patients may develop inflammation due to lack of physical conditioning. Of course, the patient's sleeping position should also be paid attention to after appendectomy surgery. Improper sleeping position may compress the wound. So what is the sleeping position for appendicitis?

1. Generally speaking, for patients with appendicitis, there is no particular requirement for sleeping posture. As long as the patient sleeps comfortably. If the patient has undergone surgical treatment, then there are certain requirements for sleeping posture. The patient must not press on the surgical incision during sleep, so as to prevent the wound from rupturing.

2. Appendicitis may cause migratory right lower abdominal pain, fever and other discomforts, which can be confirmed by color ultrasound and physical examination by a surgeon. After the diagnosis, surgery can be performed. After the operation, the patient mainly lies flat. Six hours after the operation, the upper body can be appropriately elevated. Secondly, patients should be encouraged to get out of bed and move around early after surgery to reduce the chance of intestinal adhesion and speed up the recovery of gastrointestinal function.

3. In addition, appendectomy surgery is a common surgical procedure. Although it is not a major operation, like many operations, you still need to pay attention after the operation. Generally speaking, the first thing is diet. For a general appendectomy, you can start drinking liquid food about six hours after returning to the ward, but not too much. You can eat semi-liquid food such as noodles, porridge, etc. on the next day. Later, depending on the recovery of the gastrointestinal tract, such as after passing gas and defecation, you can switch to soft food with less residue or even normal food. That is to say, after the operation, you have to wait until you have anal gas or bowel movement before you can eat.
