When to add butter when frying steak

When to add butter when frying steak

When we cook ingredients such as steak and flounder, it is best not to use ordinary animal oil or vegetable oil, but it is best to use butter or no oil. If the pan is sticky when frying steak, you can put a little bit of butter in the pan when putting it in, mainly to prevent it from sticking. If you add butter during the cooking process, it can serve as a seasoning. Of course, if you forget, you can actually spread some butter on it when it’s out of the pan to serve as a seasoning.

There are two uses for butter in steak:

1. Use as oil for frying steak

When putting the marinated steak into the pan, if you use a non-stick pan, you don’t need to add oil. But if you use other pans, the meat may stick to the pan, so you need to use oil. Olive oil is generally recommended for frying steak. Olive oil will also be spread on the steak during marinating, so you only need to add a little oil to the pan. You can also add butter and melt it slowly over low heat. Butter can also be added when frying steak as a seasoning.

2. Apply to steak when it is out of the pan

If you don't use butter when frying the steak, you can also use tongs to pick up butter and rub it on the surface of the steak when it is just out of the pan, while it is still hot. Use the residual heat of the meat to melt the butter. This is also a way to season it.

What kind of butter is good for frying steak?

If you really need to use butter, of course it is recommended to use animal butter, which has a natural taste and better flavoring effect. It is not recommended to eat vegetable butter frequently. Vegetable butter is a hydrogenated vegetable oil. Artificial hydrogenation will form trans fatty acids in the oil. Long-term consumption of this substance can cause cancer, so it is best not to use vegetable butter. Butter has a strong flavor and rich aroma, and it gives fried steak a unique flavor.

You can fry steak without oil

For those who like the original flavor of steak, you can skip the butter or olive oil and just apply a light layer of olive oil on the steak when marinating. Butter has a flavor. Although it can be used to fry steak, its flavor will remain on the steak, so the fried steak may not be as original. So if it is a good piece of steak, it is recommended that you do not use butter.
