The importance of lymph

The importance of lymph

I believe many people know that people have a lot of lymphatic tissues in their bodies, but many people don’t know this. What benefits or functions do these things have for people’s bodies? However, some people certainly know that lymph has the possibility of mutating into cancer, which leads to people’s unfriendly attitude towards it. So what benefits does politeness bring to people's health? How important is it to people?

1. The importance of lymph

Lymph nodes are important immune organs in the body. They are the places where antigen stimulation is received and immune responses are produced. They have filtering, proliferation and immune functions.

1. The human body's important defense system

The lymphatic system is an important defense system of the human body and is closely related to the cardiovascular system. The lymphatic system produces white blood cells and antibodies, filters out pathogens, and plays an important role in the distribution of fluids and nutrients in the body. Like the circulatory system that runs throughout the body, the lymphatic system is also a network of fluid systems. The lymph fluid circulating in the lymphatic system is transformed from plasma, but is clearer than plasma, contains more water, and can penetrate into tissue spaces through the walls of capillaries.

2. The spleen is the largest lymphatic organ

The spleen is the largest lymphatic organ. It can filter blood and remove aging red blood cells. It usually acts as a blood bank to store excess blood. The lymphatic system has many channels and lymph nodes. The capillaries of lymphatic vessels are spread throughout the body, collecting excess fluid and entering two main ducts: one is the main trunk of the lymphatic system, the thoracic duct, which is parallel to the spine and leads to a large vein on the left near the heart; the other is the right lymphatic duct, which leads to the vein on the right. The lymphatic system does not have a pump like a heart to move lymph fluid. New tissue fluid flows into the spaces between cells and the fluid squeezes into the lymphatic vessels. The contraction of arteries and muscles also exerts forward pressure on the lymph fluid. Respiration creates negative pressure in the thoracic duct, causing lymph to flow upward and back into the blood.

3. Filter out microorganisms and toxins

When a person is injured, the tissues will swell, and the lymphatic system is needed to remove the accumulated fluid and restore normal fluid circulation. There are more than 100 lymph nodes or lymph glands along the lymph capillaries, with a particularly high concentration in the neck, groin, and armpits of the body. Each lymph node contains a series of fibrous valves through which lymph fluid flows, filtering out microorganisms and toxins and destroying them to prevent the spread of infection.

What are lymph nodes?

When a virus invades the human body and causes infection, the lymph nodes will swell and become painful. For example, when your throat is inflamed, you will feel two lumps under your chin, which are the lymph nodes. After the inflammation disappears, the lymph nodes will naturally shrink. Tissue fluid enters the lymphatic vessels and becomes lymph. Lymph fluid and lymphocytes make up what is commonly referred to as "lymph".
