Painful nerve resection

Painful nerve resection

Pain is a subjective phenomenon that requires the patient to describe it in order for others to understand it. Pain nerves are a type of nerve. The main types include severe pain, chronic pain, cancer (or malignant) pain, etc. From a clinical point of view, severe pain is really unbearable, and the final choice is pain nerve resection, which has a good effect. From the perspective of treatment effect, there are many types of pain neurectomy that are suitable for you, and you can choose according to your actual condition.

1. Definition of pain

Pain is the most common reason people seek medical attention. However, since pain is a subjective feeling of a person, it can only be known by the patient himself. Otherwise, it is difficult for others to know what is happening, so it is difficult to define it.

The International Association for the Study of Pain defines it as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage," which is obviously a very vague definition. A surgeon once simply called pain "whatever the patient says it is". This is how the "Ashi point" in acupuncture came about. Therefore, let’s make a simple definition: pain is the alarm signal that your body sends to your brain when you are hurt or are about to be hurt, so that you can respond in time.

Types of pain

1. Severe pain. Severe pain is pain caused by an injury to the body. It alerts the brain to respond to potential harm. It may last from a few minutes to six months until the injury is healed.

2. Chronic pain. Chronic pain persists long after the injury has healed (and in some cases, can exist even in the absence of the injury). Chronic pain does not prompt the body to respond, and it often lasts for more than six months.

3. Cancer (or malignancy) pain. Cancer (or malignant) pain is associated with malignant tumors. The tumor invades healthy tissue and presses on nerves or blood vessels, causing pain. Cancer pain may also be related to the treatments that are going into your body. Some doctors classify cancer pain as chronic pain.
