What to do if your hand is pinched by a lobster

What to do if your hand is pinched by a lobster

In addition, after you buy crayfish home, they need to be processed before they can be put into the pot. However, the process of handling lobsters is very dangerous because lobsters have claws. If you don't wear gloves and handle them carefully, you can easily be pinched by the lobster's claws, which may cause bleeding or tetanus. So always wear gloves when handling lobsters. So what should you do if your hand is accidentally pinched by a lobster?

1 Generally speaking, bleeding caused by being pinched by a crayfish is not very serious, because even if the crayfish pinches you, the wound is usually not very large.

2 The amount of bleeding is not much, so if it is not very serious, just wash it with clean water!

3. If the wound caused by the lobster is deep and the bleeding is severe, you can also use hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound.

4 Take a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and clean water, soak the wound in the clean water and disinfectant, and rinse repeatedly.

5. If the lobster's growth environment is severely polluted, the wound may be infected by anaerobic bacteria. At this time, you may need to go to the hospital for a tetanus shot.

6Finally, use a Band-Aid to protect the wound to prevent it from getting infected again.

Precautions

Generally speaking, if the wound is not very serious, hydrogen peroxide at home can be used.

If the wound is seriously infected, please seek medical attention immediately.

Method 2:

1. Don’t shake after being caught

When you are pinched by a lobster, you must first stay calm and do not shake the gripped part at will. For example, some people will reflexively shake their fingers when their fingers are pinched, trying to get rid of the lobster, but lobsters usually clamp very tightly, so random movements will only expand the wound and have the opposite effect.

2. Open the large pliers directly

When you are caught, the first thing you need to do is to quickly grab the lobster's other claw. Lobsters are really ferocious. When they clamp you with one claw, they are not satisfied and will try to clamp you with the other claw to expand their victory. You need to fix its other claw and make sure it is safe before doing anything else.

Once the lobster's second claw is secured, you can use your fingers to slowly pry open the claw that's holding you, being careful not to enlarge the wound. Although lobsters are very strong, their individual claws are not as strong as yours and can be pried open relatively easily.

3. Bleeding from being pinched is not poisonous

Generally, you will not bleed after being pinched by a tender lobster. It is relatively weak, so it will only hurt a little, but you will not be injured. But if you are pinched by an old lobster with big claws, the wound will definitely bleed. Because the old lobster's claws have a barb at the very tip, when it clamps you, the barb will naturally dig into your flesh, and blood will seep out. Generally, if the wound is not big, it is recommended to clean it, disinfect it, put on a Band-Aid, and it will heal in two days. If the wound is large, you will need to go to the hospital for treatment and suture, but large wounds rarely occur.

4. How to prevent being pinched

To prevent being pinched by a lobster, you first need to find the right technique to catch a lobster. There are two correct ways to catch it: 1. Pinch its back directly with your fingers. This way, due to the lobster's body structure, the lobster's claws will never reach your skin; 2. Grab the claws directly and hold its two large claws in your hands.

Many people get pinched by lobsters because they are careless during the cleaning process. If you are very worried about this problem, you can put on rubber gloves before cleaning, so that it doesn't matter if you are pinched by lobsters.
