People's emotions are quite important, but some people have heavy hearts and minds, so they tend to think in a one-sided and extreme way. It is easy to develop emotional instability, such as depression. I often think that when people encounter something they cannot accept, their mood will fluctuate greatly. So some people may suffer from depression because of one thing. But what are the symptoms of depression? 1. Feeling depressed almost every day. Depressed mood and uncontrollable crying are both symptoms of depression. However, many people with depression feel numb and do not feel sad. 2. Changes in appetite. Depression can cause an increase or decrease in appetite, so people with depression may gain or lose weight. 3. Chest tightness and palpitations You may often feel chest tightness and palpitations. Going to the hospital for a checkup often doesn't reveal the cause. 4. Lack of interest/pleasure and lack of motivation in your daily activities. Depression causes a person to lose interest in things that normally would be considered important. You may have to force yourself to get things done. Even a small matter seems like a burden. Many people with depression describe themselves as bored and lazy; even though they have no sleeping problems, they feel tired all the time. Decreased sexual interest is also common. 5. Sleep problems. Many patients with depression suffer from insomnia, which is often manifested as difficulty falling asleep, light sleep with many dreams, easy awakening, and early awakening (waking up at 2-3 am and having difficulty falling asleep again). Early awakening is often one of the characteristic symptoms of patients with depression. Other patients with depression may sleep too much, or they may need to take frequent naps in addition to their normal nighttime sleep. 6. Anxiety or restlessness. People with depression are often restless and anxious, sometimes to the point of agitation. Anxiety can cause impatience and anger, and can make even low levels of stress difficult to cope with. 7. Feelings of guilt, uselessness and insecurity. People with depression often feel negative about themselves, the world around them, and the future. They may feel guilty about past events. Many people with depression feel worthless and believe that depression is a punishment for something they have done or not done. Depression can lead to insecurity and dependence on others, as well as slovenliness and lack of personal hygiene. 8. Difficulty concentrating and thinking normally. Depression makes it difficult for a person to think clearly and make even small decisions. People with depression often cannot concentrate easily. The patient becomes inefficient in work and daily life, and frustration and disgust may set in. 9. Fatigue or general weakness. Most people with depression experience different physical symptoms and feel unwell all over. 10. Suicidal thoughts Many people with depression think of death as a way to relieve their pain. Sufferers often engage in thoughts and behaviors about death in an effort to end pain, suffering, and confusion. Experts remind that if you have thoughts of harming yourself or others, please see a psychiatrist immediately. |
